I 24 Lead Blast
Jul 06, 2022This is your simple I-formation Blast run play. The RB (no. 2) follows the FB (no. 4) into the 4 gap. Everyone blocks someone. The guard and tackle on right side try to open up a hole for them to run through.
You can always run this in the opposite direction, by making it a 23 Lead running to the side of the TE. Or motion the TE for some added confusion.
A Blast play is when a runner runs through the line of scrimmage on an inside run play following one or two blockers.
If you want to widen it, you can run to the 6 or even 8 gaps, but it would have to be a toss from the QB not a handoff.
Works great in backyard as well as organized football. In flag, it may be harder to use running plays.
