Jillian’s 30 Day Shred beats other DVDs

It doesn’t matter if you are a coach, a current player, retired player, or a family member of someone involved in football. You can benefit from Jillian Michaels’ 30 Day Shred program. We evaluated many of the exercise DVDs available for purchase and found 30 Day Shred to beat out the other competitors.

Jillian Michaels’ is the famous personal trainer from the hit television show Biggest Loser. She has years of experience, and designed a great program for all of us to follow.

For football players, watching women jump up and down and exercising may not be your idea of a workout. But it truly is the best program we found. We can’t always watch the muscle-bound guys working out. That would be weird, anyways.

The advantage of 30 Day Shred is that the workout sessions are only 20-25 minutes in length. During those 25 minutes, you get some warm up stretching, some cardio, some strength and resistance training, and a cool down period. She alternates from each exercise quickly so that you don’t get bored or get into a rut. It’s very exciting and very tiring. Everyone that tried this program at our office really enjoyed this program, especially when compared to others.

The DVD contains 4 different workouts and an introductory segment describing her philosophy. You will not get bored and the workouts get tougher and more intense. We are confident that even if you only use the Stage 1 workout, you will lose weight, gain muscle, and have better cardiovascular endurance. It’s a very complete program and doesn’t cost more than a normal DVD (around $9 bucks on Amazon.com).

P90X was unrealistic in today’s busy lifestyles and extremely costly. We could never find 90 minutes in our day to do a workout. And we weren’t going to spend 90 minutes doing yoga. Sure, stretching is good for you, but we are not interested in that long of a yoga session. 30 Day Shred offers plenty of stretching and flexibility movements in the beginning of each session. There is no need to waste valuable time. The other problem with P90X is that you need a pull up bar and other more rare equipment. We don’t have that equipment and it’s not readily available. That was a turn off. 30 Day Shred only requires two dumbbells and it was much more practical. Everyone has dumbbells or two soup cans.

The Insanity program was similarly disappointing and costly. It seems like they learned their lesson from the P90X experience (the same company makes both) and cut the workout length in half. Each session is usually 45-50 minutes, but we found that we still didn’t have time for that. The exercises were monotonous and it became boring very quickly. It wasn’t really “insane” if you are semi-athletic. Most of our staff are athletes or former athletes. But we can see how the average person would find this “insane”. The difference between Insanity and P90X was that Insanity doesn’t require any equipment. They are both made by the same company and cost an exorbitant amount of money. That was a major turn off. Why should someone pay upwards of $100 dollars for an exercise DVD?

Jillian Michaels’ 30 Day Shred offers a much cheaper alternative, with better workouts and a full spectrum of cardio, flexibility, strength, and resistance training. You will lose plenty of weight, build up plenty of strength and muscle, and improve your cardiovascular endurance. The workouts are much shorter and easier to fit into our busy schedules. The DVD costs less than 10 bucks. Talk about a great deal!

Current and active football players will obviously need to augment this type of workout with more intense weight training, more pylometrics, and more short-burst sprints. But this is great for players in the off-season or who have stopped playing. We’ve seen a lot of football players balloon in size and girth after their playing days are over, and we can’t have that. Weekend warriors and recreational football players should definitely get on this program. Your agility, strength, and endurance will improve significantly. You should do this together as a family and get everyone involved.

We don’t like to see overweight coaches, players or family members of football players. We have to set a good example for our youth and it starts with us. We need to teach them good eating habits and good life habits from now.

Jillian Michaels’ 30 Day Shred, along with a good diet program, will go a long way towards keeping you healthy and fit for many years. The 30 Day Shred is only $10 bucks. You can change your life for less than the cost of your next meal. What are you waiting for?
